Rekindling affectionate warmth with gas fireplaces...
t was Christmas Eve. Joe returned home from his army camp after a long period. He was married to Jane in September and had to hurry off to the army base camp reluctantly. After much request he was able to secure his Christmas holiday. While having their delicious Christmas eve dinner, Joe and Jane started discussing fireplaces- precisely about gas fireplaces and its varieties such as gas coal fireplaces, see through fireplaces and corner gas fireplaces, so that they can purchase it before the new years eve and fill their cozy nook with affectionate warmth.
Gas fireplaces, the new age fireplaces:
In earlier days people used the traditional wood-burning
fireplace. Fireplace technology has come of age since then and
today's choice has turned to gas. Gas-fireplaces appearing in
varieties of see through, gas coal, and corner fireplaces, come
integrated with gas logs. They also come as free standing gas stoves
and contained fireplace units mounted to a wall. The gas logs are
vented and burn the propane or natural gas. They can create a
cozy and attractive ambience filled with affectionate warmth by
virtue of their inviting flame patterns.
Gas fireplaces are
characterized with 40000 British Thermal Unit natural gas or propane
burners with piezo or electric ignition. They can be quite
attractive and have gray-tinted full view glass doors and sealed gas
panels on either side of the fireplace unit. A brass finish adds
that much-desired-for aesthetic touch. Corner, gas coal, and see
through fireplaces having peizo ignition facilities come with wired
switches, cast iron andirons (which are sturdy metal supports that
hold the logs and are made of cast iron, steel and brass), fire
screens and a coupling for an outside air kit.
The optionals, additives and the integrals:
Some gas fireplaces produce a yellow coloured flame that resembles the traditional wooden fireplaces. Others produce a blue flame that is usually hotter and produces fewer by-products. Depending on your home space and taste, corner gas fire-places, gas coal fireplaces and see through fireplaces are available with top venting and direct venting options. Direct venting is a much safer bet as no internal air is used in the combustion and the probability of the lethal gas Carbon Monoxide (CO) building up to alarming levels is much lower. Vent free options have an "oxygen depletion sensor" that continuously detects the oxygen level and seals of the burning gas off when the level of oxygen in the room becomes alarmingly low.
